Level 1, Activity 2-1
Extra Help –
Look At Your Action Steps
Now step back and look at your wall of ideas. Will some actions take more time than others? Do some actions go together? Will some actions get you closer to your vision than others? Are some actions great ideas but not really part of your vision? Sometimes there will be many more ideas than you have time to do. You may have to eliminate some ideas from your mission and take them off the wall.
Think about the impact your actions will have on others. If the dog food is delivered to the animal shelter before you can get there, will it cause a storage problem for the shelter’s staff? Now think about the equipment need you will have. Do you need a rake, food, money or other items? And will you need additional people to assist you with your project? How many? Use the circles to add these additional needs to the wall.
Put Your Steps in Order
Some actions will have to occur before others. Look at the ideas on the wall and put them in order. Some actions may need to be done together, and should be placed side-by-side. Try mixing up the order the actions are in and see how that affects the rest of your project. Take away the equipment and helpers – does that change your project? Use a calendar to estimate when each step needs to be finished. Some steps may take more time to complete than others.
